Why should I buy a shaRINGS case?
We find that choosing new matching casual rings each year is an enjoyable way to keep our relationship fresh and fun. Displaying all of our previous years' rings (we're up to 10 different sets now) in our shaRINGS case on our family room wall is a pretty cool and distinctive way of highlighting our years together.
And here's a great bonus: finding the perfect anniversary gift each year requires absolutely no thought—because it's the new set of rings. We take turns choosing a pool of new ring options and then, together, we decide on the next year's style.
What do you mean by "matching casual rings"? Are the shaRINGS supposed to be our actual wedding or commitment bands?
They can be your actual bands—or, they can be an additional ring that you wear. For example, you may want to wear the casual ring on your ring finger for everyday use and change to your wedding or commitment ring when you go somewhere a bit more formal. Or, if you prefer to wear your wedding or commitment ring all the time, you can always wear the shaRING on a different finger. It's up to you.
We define "matching casual rings" as a relatively inexpensive set of rings that we buy from a vendor or have custom made from artists or jewelry artisans. For example, to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary in 2008, we took a trip to Hawaii and had rings engraved with turtles and surfboards. (Yes, we swam with turtles and learned to surf!) We'll retire our Hawaiian rings in September 2009, come back and check 'em out!
Our previous shaRINGS have ranged in price from $50 to $300 apiece with the average price being $100 apiece.
Do you sell rings, or just the shaRINGS case?
At this time, we just sell the shaRINGS case. However, if you click here, you'll find several ring companies we recommend. We have used each of them at least once in the past, and we've found their quality and prices to be in line with our expectations for a set of casual rings designed to last for one year.
We do intend to sell rings in the future to give you more choices.

Do the shaRINGS have to match?
Great question! No, they actually don't. Again, it comes down to your preferences as a couple. Regardless of whether the rings you choose are the same design or different, each set of rings will be displayed side-by-side in the shaRINGS case with the engraved date plaque upon retirement. However, we recommend they match because it's fun!
Do the engraved dates on the shaRINGS case have to begin the year you are married or committed?
Another great question! The answer is "no". A couple can start the shaRINGS case at any point in their relationship, but most couples start the year of their wedding or commitment ceremony.
What if we really like our rings and want to wear them beyond the one-year timeframe?
Ahhhh, that's cheating! Retire them and start anew!
